Overview
Every December, True Crew produces an original Winter Show. No shows are repeated from previous years, making each performance is unique! All students are expected to participate and will be choreographed into class routines unless the parent/guardian notifies us otherwise. Families may opt out at registration if they do not wish for their student to participate.
Students must be a registered True Crew student by November 1 to participate in the Winter Show. Accounts must be current, including December tuition, prior to the show. Students with unpaid accounts will not be permitted to perform. Please respect our teachers’ and students’ time and effort by ensuring your account is up-to-date and your child is prepared to participate.

Volunteers
Photography & Recording
Volunteers and chaperones are accepted on a first-request basis and are subject to a background check for the safety of all students. Volunteers are required to arrive 1 hour prior to their scheduled dress rehearsal block or show start time. No siblings or additional children are permitted with volunteers, as attention must remain on the dancers they are supervising.
-
No personal recording devices or cameras are allowed in the auditorium for the general public. Licensed media photographers allowed with venue approval. Violators of these rules will be removed from the theatre.
-
Winter Show Video Purchase: Families who would like a recording of the December Winter Performance may purchase a professional video through the studio for $25.00. The video will be delivered as a digital upload that can be shared as you wish. Purchase must be made the week prior to the show by filling out the form at the front office. This is the only permitted video recording of the show, for the safety and security of all children.
Dress Rehearsal Procedures

Dress Rehearsal runs from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Time slots will be sent out 1 week prior to the show; Students attend only their assigned time block.
-
Students are required to be present at dress rehearsal if participating in the Winter Show. Families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the rehearsal.
-
Students must be dropped off and picked up through the Stage Door at the back of the theatre. One adult must sign the student in and out at the registration desk.
-
Arrive dressed in dress code attire or first costume, as designated for your group. Makeup is not required for Dress Rehearsal; however, hair should be pulled back out of the face. All dress code pieces, shoes, and bag must be labeled with the student’s name. Students may bring a water bottle.
- Only cast, crew, and assigned volunteers may remain in the theatre during rehearsals. Lobby access is not permitted for rehearsal. Students and volunteers must use stage doors only. No other persons will be permitted in the theatre during rehearsals.
HAIR REQUIREMENTS
- Girls: All dancers must wear a slicked, middle-part, low bun at the nape of the neck for all class and group pictures. Bangs must be pulled back off the face so eyes are clearly visible in photos and on stage.
- Boys: Hair must be neatly styled and away from the face.
Nails & Jewelry
Absolutely no fingernail polish may be worn for the Winter Show. For your child’s safety, no dangling jewelry may be worn, including earrings, bracelets, or necklaces. The only earrings permitted are crystal clear studs.
Costumes
Costumes are not purchased for the Winter Show. This is not the costumes included in the June Recital Packages. The June Recital Package applies only to the End-of-Season Recital in June. For the Winter Show, students simply need their True Crew dress code attire and shoes. Our Director, Ms. Toni, handles all costume coordination.
Makeup Guidelines
- Eyes: Apply charcoal or dark brown eyeshadow on the eyelid. Apply light pale pink eyeshadow above the lid, blending up toward the eyebrow. Mascara is required. Eyeliner on the top and bottom lash line is recommended so eyes appear larger and more defined on stage. Liquid eyeliner is suggested, as it is easier to apply and shows clearly under lights.
- Cheeks: Blush should be applied to the cheekbones so dancers do not appear pale or washed out under stage lighting.
- Lips: Lipstick is required so dancers do not look pale under the lights. Lip color should be a red or pink tone that complements the costume. No blue, purple, black, or dark/unnatural colors are permitted. The goal is to enhance the dancer’s natural lip color—a shade slightly darker than their natural lips is ideal. Lip gloss may be worn on top of lipstick for added shine.
