Studio Picture Day

Overview

Group Picture Day is an exciting part of our June Recital experience where all performing students participate as part of their scheduled performance group! This special weekend will take place April 10-12, 2026 at the studio. Group photos are taken on Saturday and professionally captured to showcase each class. These photos are proudly spotlighted at our Annual Recital in June! Sessions move quickly and efficiently, and dancers are free to leave once their group photo is complete. We can’t wait to see everyone in costume and celebrating another amazing season!

Pricing Information

Arrival & Requirements

  • There is no cost to have your Group Photo taken.

  • Students who register for the Royal Recital Package will receive a Solo Photo Session, as well as all Group Photos included in their package.

  • Students who do not register for the Royal Recital Package may still purchase downloadable Group Photos separately. Individual Group Photo downloads are available for $10.00 per Group Photo.

  • Each student will receive a specific group appointment time.

  • Students are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time, ready in their first group costume, with hair, makeup, and shoes.

  • Due to a tightly packed schedule, group photos often run on time or slightly early. We cannot delay sessions. If a student is not present and ready during the 15-minute arrival window and scheduled time, we unfortunately cannot wait, and they may miss their Group Recital Photo.

Group Photo Sessions

HAIR REQUIREMENTS

  • Girls: All dancers must wear a slicked, middle-part, low bun at the nape of the neck for all class and group pictures. Bangs must be pulled back off the face so eyes are clearly visible in photos and on stage.
  • Boys: Hair must be neatly styled and away from the face.

 

Nails & Jewelry

Absolutely no fingernail polish may be worn for the June Recital. For your child’s safety, no dangling jewelry may be worn, including earrings, bracelets, or necklaces. The only earrings permitted are crystal clear studs.

 

Costumes

Costumes for the June Recital are included in the Recital Packages. They are distributed before Picture Day and should be kept in good condition and clearly labeled with your child’s name.

Makeup Guidelines

  • Eyes: Apply charcoal or dark brown eyeshadow on the eyelid. Apply light pale pink eyeshadow above the lid, blending up toward the eyebrow. Mascara is required. Eyeliner on the top and bottom lash line is recommended so eyes appear larger and more defined on stage. Liquid eyeliner is suggested, as it is easier to apply and shows clearly under lights.

 

  • Cheeks: Blush should be applied to the cheekbones so dancers do not appear pale or washed out under stage lighting.

 

  • Lips: Lipstick is required so dancers do not look pale under the lights. Lip color should be a red or pink tone that complements the costume. No blue, purple, black, or dark/unnatural colors are permitted. The goal is to enhance the dancer’s natural lip color—a shade slightly darker than their natural lips is ideal. Lip gloss may be worn on top of lipstick for added shine.

Individual Photo Sessions

All students have the opportunity to participate in an individual photo sitting through the Royal Recital Package, which includes an 8-minute solo session and all digital downloads. To secure a time slot, families must sign up and complete payment at the front desk. Once sign-ups are posted and payment is received, you will select your personalized appointment time. Personalized sessions will be held Friday, Saturday late afternoon/evening, and all day Sunday.

What’s Included:

  • Every photo taken during your session will be delivered through your email on file.

  • All group photos your child appears in at no additional cost with the purchase of the Royal Recital Package.

  • Full photo release to print unlimited copies and share on social media.

  • Multiple costume changes permitted, as time allows within your scheduled session.

Day of Individual Photos:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session fully ready to be photographed. Your child will be brought in approximately 5 minutes before their session begins.
  • If a costume change is needed, one parent or up to two guardians may assist. Otherwise, parents/guardians will wait in the lobby.
  • If you are not ready or arrive late, we will do our best to reschedule if availability permits. If rescheduling is not possible, the individual sitting will be forfeited, as your appointment time was reserved exclusively for you.
  • Hair and makeup may be styled however you wish for individual sessions — this is your personal photo experience!
