Recreational Dress Code

Our recreational dress code is designed to foster inclusivity and create an environment where teachers can assess technique, alignment, and other crucial aspects of dance training effectively. Students are to be in proper dress code during all classes and rehearsals. Students who are not in proper dress code will not be permitted to take class.

General Guidelines

  • All shoes and personal items must be labeled with the student’s name or initials.

  • Unless otherwise specified, all shoes can be purchased through the studio.

  • Outside shoes are not permitted in the studio.

  • Students must have proper shoes and dress code attire by the end of their first month.

  • Ensure correct brand and color of shoes, as styles can vary.

  • Shirts or sweatshirts are not permitted over leotards in any class.

Required Dress Code

Girls

Preschool & Combo Classes

  • Attire: TCDC uniform leotard

  • Tights: Skin tone or pink

  • Shoes: Required shoes (listed below)

  • Hair: Pulled up and away from the face

  • Optional: Black or light blue skirt, black shorts

 

Ballet/lyrical & Contemporary (level 1 – level 4)

  • Attire: TCDC uniform leotard (girls)

  • Tights: Skin tone or pink

  • Shoes: Required shoes (listed below)

  • Hair: Pulled up and away from the face

  • Optional: Black or light blue skirt, black shorts

Jazz, Tap, & Musical Theatre (level 1 – level 4)

  • Attire: TCDC uniform leotard (girls)

  • Tights: Skin tone or pink

  • Shoes: Required shoes (listed below)

  • Hair: Pulled up and away from the face

  • Optional: Black shorts

 

Hip Hop (level 1 – level 4)

  • Attire: TCDC uniform leotard (girls), black sweatpants

  • Shoes: Required shoes (listed below)

  • Hair: Pulled up and away from the face
